[just plops down right on the floor and looks up at vash expectantly. flapjack gives a happy little peep at the pets. no hard feelings!]

Right, right.

[He nods a few times. HIs feet push up and down, rocking his body. Don't mind him, just a self-soothing guy over here. It's not even a nervewracking subject, he's just nervous about letting Ourania down.]

She — Ourania I mean — told me we could communicate with Beiwe if we, uh. Inspected the burned town thoroughly. So I guess I was wondering if you'd found out anything more?

Oh... I haven't been able to look at anything very closely because of the sinkhole beasts, but maybe the Sky Guardian being right on the border of it is relevant somehow?

That's kind of what I was thinking. They were all friends, right. Maybe it went down near someone it trusted. Or... something. I don't know.

[He shakes his head. Listen, there was a lot of exposition and he is just one soupy-brained man.]

But I guess that means investigating is going to be a little harder, what with the sinkholes, huh?

[hunter may not know that vash might meet his level of stubbornness, but he doesn't need to.]

We'll figure something out, even if we have to ask the other residents. It can't be impossible.

[That perks him right up.]

I actually had an idea of who! You know that Silverash guy? The one with the ears and the tail? He said he was looking to help people, right? Maybe there's a bit of incentive there? Plus I know his husband — he's a good guy!

Vash, everyone in the Grove has ears, and half have a tail.

What do you take me for? Do I look like the kind of person who pushes all my work onto other people?!

[Oop, he waves his hands frantically.]

I could at least come with you. It could be another pals adventure! Besides, it wouldn't show much dedication to helping Beiwe if I let you do all the work!

Is she your patron, or something?

Patron? [He squints just a little.]

I don't know about all of that. I just know that she did me a kindness. Saved my life! And I want to repay it as best as I can. So if that means making sure her wife can speak with us freely, so be it!
